β€œBata Heritage Centre hosted their Open Day in the reception area on Saturday 13th April, drawing over 100 people including Monica Pignall-Bata. The day brought together ex-Bata employees and residents new to the Bata story for conversations prompted by a range of exhibitions including one about the 2017 library fire with destroyed items on display and a hand on β€˜restore a Bata artefact’ activity. Various photographs and items were donated including valuable family photos of East Tilbury in the 1940s and a pair of 1950s Bata football boots. 55 people went on walking tours throughout the day, experiencing hidden Bata stories around East Tilbury. Special thanks were made to One Big Storage who provided the space free of charge and facilitated a special viewing of the Director’s Office”
